UCA President’s Prayer Gathering
At a time when we are watching a devastating war played out in the Middle East, many of us feel like spectators of appalling violence and destruction. For others here in Australia this is impacting personally on their homelands and families as people are forced to flee and to depend on others for their survival. The attacks on Iran have provoked a response that has threatened the stability of the entire region and beyond. We know these things and we offer up our individual prayers.
Greetings and welcome to Friends of the Middle East. As you will discover, we are a group of Christian leaders with a simple agenda - to grow and sustain relationships between our relatively young church and the remarkable ancient churches of the Middle East. I offer our warmest welcome as you explore our website. I hope you will feel encouraged to deepen your exploration by connecting with one of our events or forums.

Urgent Appeal – Lebanon in Crisis
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
The situation in Lebanon has dramatically escalated. In just the past 48 hours, 397 people have lost their lives, and more than 59,000 have been displaced from the south of the country.
Behind these numbers are grieving families, frightened children, and entire communities shattered by violence.
Many of the displaced have sought refuge in Beirut and surrounding areas. In an extraordinary witness of Christian love, our partner churches have opened their doors. Church halls, schools, and parish buildings have become emergency shelters. Sanctuaries have become places of comfort, prayer, and refuge.
